This idea was really just the first thing that popped into my mind. I wanted to make something that I new how to create but with paint. It took me awhile, which is why I only have one project done. I first did it on a piece of paper and kinda gave myself the general Idea of what I wanted it to be. I eventually used paint markers because it was easier for me. I think it turned out pretty well. It could be more balanced but that's okay, it cant be perfect. It certainly isn't realistic, but I don't think I was going for that anyway. I did the background first because I still wasn't 100 percent sure how to do the eye. eventually though I asked my friend how she made eyes and she told me how she either starts on the inside of the eye and goes out or the opposite. Then I remembered that I had learned that years ago and I just couldn't remember. I don't know how I did, I literally have a giant project on my wall from when I learned it. This style of art is probably abstract, it doesn't really mean anything I've just created something for practice. I do love the eye though, It was the hardest but turned out the greatest, if you really look for more than a second you can see all the layers on it and where I put light or dark.
I made this one because I was told that making water look right with paint is very hard. They were right, this took me a very long time. I've got so many layers on this thing it's crazy, it's a miracle that it doesn't pop an inch off the page with how much paint is on it. I know that the picture that I was going off of looks almost completely different then how it turned out. The picture I went off of had a lot of orange and almost no green, but I think this looks cool too. When you looks at it in person you can see the layers and waves a lot easier than on picture. The way I got it to look like this, to have so many little wave and actually making it look like it's going to the end of your point of view and not just flat. Is that I make big swoops closer to the bottom and a bunch of little ones the further I got in the sea. I also had to mix the colors a lot to make it look faded into each color, which is why I ended up with green since yellow + blue = green. For the clouds I just made an outline of blue and green and then went over it with a bunch of white I powdered on. If you can't tell the black part at the bottom end of the page is sand. I put the white there so it looks more like sand but I'm not sure it worked. I also put little white strips in the water for a little bit more reflectiveness. The bottom part of the sky kinda looks like stretched Laffy Taffy, but that's just my opinion. It's pretty good I'd say, I definetly didn't think I could create something like it and I'm glad I challenged myself.
