“The Rainbow Horse”
14 ½ “ x 6” x 2 ½ “
Plaster, paint, beads, yarn, glitter, hot glue, and glue
I chose the horse because there were not very many students using the horse mask form and thought it was cool and I didn’t copy anyone. I put the plaster strips on the horse mask form and let it dry. Next I trimmed the edges. I painted the mask all different colors, red, orange, yellow, blue, purple, and green. After the paint dried I put the yarn on, added the beads, and then the glitter. I had to take my time when painting the different colors. Something new I tried was gluing the beads on the face because the beads were different sizes. The thing I like the most about my project is the different colors and the glitter. If I could start over I would change the eyes and use something different for them.

“Wild Dog”
9” x 12”
Hot glue, pastels, and watercolor paint
My source of inspiration for my work was the African Wild Dog. I drew a picture of a wild dog from a picture of one from the internet. I traced the lines with the hot glue gun. I colored the picture using oil pastel colors. After I was done coloring the paper I painted over the entire picture with black watercolor paint and then rinsed the paper with water. I then let dry. I had a hard time getting the color in the smaller spots, but when I painted it with black watercolor paint it filled the blank spots in. I really like how the green background turned out with the lighter and darker greens. If I could change anything I would make the spots bigger so it would be easier to color, but I do like how it turned out.

“Speed the Pirate”
Dimensions 6 ½“ L x 5 ½” W x ½ “ H
Clay and glaze
My inspiration for my project was a pirate. When I was making the face I thought of what a pirate looked like. When I was making the face I had to roll out the clay, cut the different shapes, added texture to the face, and then glaze the face. When I was glazing the face I had to get smaller brushes to get glaze in the smaller places. I learned how to do the score and slip construction method to connect the parts to the ceramic face. I really like the glaze I used on the face and all the different colors. If I could start over I would change the eyes because the eyes look kinda funny.
