9x12, Acrylic on Canvas, 2021
I wanted to show how much I appreciate my aunt. (in the middle) The idea for this painting started off with me wanting to paint something for both my still life painting and my aunt. The inspiration for this painting was based on a picture taken when I was three. I started off by taking the original picture and turning it into a coloring page and tracing it with transfer paper. I then started painting. It took me about four class periods to complete the painting. Then I went in with marker and added a few things. This piece of artwork represents me, my younger sister, and my aunt and how much we’ve grown. She does so much for me and I wanted to make something that shows her how much I appreciate everything she does for me. I want the audience to think of someone that is always there for them when they need it. The most difficult part of this painting was the faces because I wanted to get the details so perfectly. I had to ask Mrs. Dunlavey for help with the faces and I watched what she did so I can get better. I would probably the background color. The style of art used in this painting is realistic. The thing I love most about this painting is how it says so much.
