10x8.5, Shading tools, pencil, graphite, black, white, gray, brown, and pink
My inspiration was my cat, Frank. I love him and he loves me. We have lots of photo shoots together because he is so cute. I recently took this photo and decided to draw it.
I started with my fingers because then I could build from there. I made it with a pencil, then started to shape Frank's head. I used a lot of shading and blending for his fur.
When people look at my artwork, I want them to think about my cat. He is so cute. I wish more people liked cats, as they are so cute. Also, to appreciate the amazing photos I take of him.
The most difficult part for me was the eyes. In the photo, his left eye was half open while the other one was completely open. It was very difficult to draw, and it took me many tries. I am very proud of the nose, fingers, and whiskers.
9x11, Rubbing Alcohol, Cotton Balls, Pencil, Blue Ink Pen
I was supposed to draw a landscape. I remembered a photo that was taken of my farm a long time ago. I decided to try and draw that. I knew using multiple colors would be tough, so I decided to use only a Blue Pen. It was lots of fun. It helped me add detail.
I started out by outlining the pond and barns with pencils to make sure I had the layout done correctly. I then traced with a blue pen. The most annoying part was the hay and grass. I decided to use cross-hatching when doing the grass. It made the texture look better. For the pond, I went side to side, making the color fade. My favorite part was the sky. I saved it for last because I could not decide how to complete it. Fortunately, Ms. Garrity told me to try using rubbing alcohol and cotton balls to smear the blue. It was cool, and the technique made the ink look like clouds.
When people look at my art, I want them to think about the beauty of nature. Even if it is just a drawing or in real life, Nature is so beautiful.
What was most difficult was shading and texture. I never really knew how to add structure to a drawing. Then I remembered learning about cross-hatching and dotting. It worked perfectly and made me so happy with the outcome.
I would say it is realistic because it is just a farm. It is blue, however, it is a farm.
Graphite Pencil, shading tools, 11' x 8'
I was supposed to draw a portrait, so I decided to draw a photo of my friend Joslynn and me. My friend Joslynn is on the left, and I am on the right. I am not very good at drawing people, so I decided to draw something that looked easy.
I started by outlining everything. I began by drawing Joslynn and me. I then started to draw around us. I drew the wall and the ceiling. I shaded a lot which helped things pop out and overall look good.
When people look at my art, I want people to think about our friendship. We have been friends for a pretty long time, I focused on making the smiles big to focus on the happiness.
What was most difficult was the faces. I erased and redrew all the faces multiple times. I am still not happy with it, but I it looks better than what I thought. I have always struggled to draw faces, but I am kinda happy about the outcome.
My art is realistic because it is two people.
Water Color Paint, Pencil, Tape, Glue, and Magazine Cut outs. 18x24
I am currently in tennis season and I am having one of my greatest seasons ever. I wanted to paint a tennis court so I did such that. I used pencil to create the boxes, then I put tape over the lines so I can paint them. I used tape so my lines could be straight. I did multiple layers. I then painted the gray area. I added clippings of tennis rackets and balls. Then I added the words.
When people look at my art I want them to think about tennis and how it is such a calm sport. It is a hard workout and takes a lot of effort.
What was most difficult was choosing what to put and where. There were many choices and I decided to keep it simple with just two rackets and a ball. Then I added words to follow it.
