My idea was to make something that meant something to me. One of the first things that I had an idea on was making something dealing with music. I remembered I’d recently seen a picture on Instagram, the artwork was a picture of Lisa Simpson listening to music through her headphones, and she looked happy. I really liked that image. First thing I did to my artwork was change Lisa’s face to an original face I came up with. Then I went on to draw the rest of her body, with a different, more unique necklace. Last thing I did was draw the music store she was in, then I changed all the albums to some that I personally listened to. One of the main reasons I chose to make this artwork was because I love listening to music. Music has helped me in many different ways in my life. So drawing a girl listening to music and enjoying it connected to me because music makes me feel the same way. The most difficult part for me was trying to make a random face instead of using Lisa’s face. I think this was difficult for me because I usually sketch people I know in real life, and I rarely make up random people from my imagination to draw. One way I can work on this is leaning away from drawing people I know and start drawing from my imagination. I think my art is abstract because it’s very colorful and not using realistic shapes, it's also not using odd shapes either. The thing I loved most about my project has to be the albums I drew using a mix of my imagination and inspirations of albums I listen to regularly. And the only thing I would change about my project is more color and items in the background.
