For this drawing of my house I wanted to push the limits on my shading skills. I wanted something slightly complex but not to difficult to shade. I used a ruler to perfect the straight lines and shaded with graphite pencils. I wanted it to be up to viewer interpretation so I left tons of empty room in the photo. I think the most difficult thing about the drawing is getting the correct shade of black and not trying to over do it. I'd say that it is a realistic drawing but in some aspects it is surreal because of that emptiness. I think my favorite thing about this drawing has to be the objects that are leaning on the wall.

This time I drew my house with color. I wanted to try to mix grpahite shading with colored pencil. I used a ruler again to get the sharp lines, but this time I did a more blocky shading. Once again I wanted to use viewer interperatation so I only gave it depth. I think the most difficult thing about the drawing is getting the colored pencil to apply evenly across the drawing. I'd say that it is a surealist drawing since it could be a real place but its not. I think my favorite thing about this drawing has to be the angle it is shot at, you can tell the viewer is looking up and slightly to the side.

The thing I wanted to work on on this drawing was nature. I wanted to make it feel as natrual as I could make it. I first started off with triangles, and added a few jagged lines that branched off from the point. I wanted to make it look like the sun was coming from the right, so I added shadows to the left side. I think the most difficult thing about the drawing is trying to get the scale right. I'd say that it is a realistic landscape drawing. I think my favorite thing about this drawing has to be the way I shaded the mountains.
