I made a painting like this a while back so it was the first idea that popped into my head. I used watercolor and a little bit of Sharpie and I just painted the background a pink color, then I proceeded to paint the headphones and the heart red and black. Lastly, I drew on the numbers and the music line. The artwork shows my love for sad music and I tried to make it look like this so that whoever may look at this painting could understand why I did it like this. The most difficult part of this painting was making the heart somewhat symmetrical. If I were to start over, I would want to change the color of the headphones because I feel they blend in with the background too much. Something I love about it is the date that is in the middle of the heart because it means a lot to me. I would say this painting is Non-Objective and it's unique because I have a feeling not many people would think of this idea for a painting.
My idea was to make a painting that would be meaningful to my whole family, so I decided to make a portrait of my little brother Holden, my older brother Wyatt, and myself. I used acrylic paint but at the beginning, I used transfer paper to outline anything I thought could help, I started with the main colors that were going to be used and went from darkest to lightest colors after that. I want the audience to think about how life is always better when you have siblings by your side because it is. Also, I just want people to realize how important family is at the end of the day no matter how much they upset you, they will always have your back. The most difficult part for me was all of the face and clothes details but I just took a day or two away from the painting and came back with a fresh mindset and successfully finished the painting. I believe this would be classified somewhere in between realistic and abstract because they are kind of cartoonish but you can tell that they are people. It matches my style which I would personally say is abstract but I also want it to look like my example pictures.
