My idea for this work was to make a sunset with trees in front of it. I didn't get this idea from anything, it kind of just popped into my head so I went with it and it looks okay. I started with the sunset in the background then the water and then the land followed by the trees. I wish that I did the trees differently but it's too late now. I'm not really sure why I didn't fix the trees while I was doing them but I think it definitely could have turned out a lot worse. There isn't really a meaning behind this artwork but I still like it either way. I would like to consider this a realistic piece of artwork or at least that is what I was going for.

My idea for this artwork was to make a dark stormy night over a black sea. I got this idea from another similar piece that I really liked and I just love how it looks. I started this painting off by painting the whole canvas black and letting that dry, once it did I painted over it with black one more time and while it was still wet I started to do the waves that are in the sea so that it could blend out well then I let that dry and repeated the process where it was needed. After all of that dried I went over the top half of the canvas with black and while it was still wet I used a sponge with a little bit of white paint on it to create the clouds. I used a sponge to create the clouds so that they would look fluffy and cloud-like. My intention with the artwork was to portray the idea that you can always find light and beauty in the darkest of days. I want people to look at my artwork and realize that just because it's all dark and gloomy, doesn't mean it still can be pretty. The most difficult part for me was definitely the water lines but I eventually found a technique that worked for me. If I started over I would change how the clouds look. I'm not sure what about it is throwing me off but I feel like they need to be different. I would consider this a realistic piece of art and what makes it unique to me is everything about it and what it means. What I love most about this painting is the true meaning that I have put behind it.

This painting is in progress but my idea was to create somthing in memory of my cats because we didn't have the funds to keep them. I thought of this a while ago and knew i just needed the perfect picture to go off of which i did end up finding. I started this painting by painting the background completely blue and did multiple coats of it. then after that dried i started mixing some of my colors and got started on the first cats top half of the head. I used some blue colors and some browns. After that I did the eyes and noses of both cats and am still working to finish the rest. I want my audiuence to see two warm hearted kittens doing nothing but being cute, there isnt any symbolism in this painting and thats how i wanted it to be. The most difficult thing that i have come across with this painting is making the fur look like fur, I am somewhat getting it to look right but I will continue to try. I would consider this painting to be realistic and my favorite part about this painting is what it means to me.
