School Counseling Program Vision Statement: 

The vision of the La Ballona Elementary School comprehensive school counseling program is that all students are equipped to be engaged in ongoing learning and personal growth. La Ballona students actively develop the confidence to be productive community members who embody the grit and resilience needed to achieve success and reach their full potential. Our students acquire and apply learning strategies, self-management, and social skills to achieve personal and collective goals while contributing to safe, healthy, and inclusive relationships and communities.

The mission of the La Ballona Elementary School counseling program is to inspire all students to reach their maximum potential through academic, career, and social-emotional development. This program provides equitable access to a data-informed, evidence-based comprehensive school counseling program that helps all students build resilience and advocacy skills with a positive attitude to feel a sense of belonging.

Please keep in mind that:

• Not all students referred will receive school-based services. Please refer to the referral criteria on the counseling menu. 

• School counseling is brief and solution-focused, typically lasting 1 to 8 sessions.

• Parent permission is required for Tier 2 and 3 counseling services.
