About Me

My name is Mary Cecchinelli and I live in Barre with my husband,  two kids, and my dog. Both my husband and I grew up in Barre and our roots are firmly planted there. Currently, I am the Librarian at Twinfield Union School. Twinfield serves both the Marshfield and Plainfield communities. I have worked at Twinfield for over 20 years and truly love the community. I have worn a variety of hats at Twinfield. I began there as a high school English teacher and then became the ELA teacher for the Middle School Team and now I am the Library Media Specialist. I love that my professional growth is valued by my administrators and colleagues at Twinfield. I am excited to move into the next phase of my career. I look forward to being able to continue serving the families of the  Plainfield and Marshfield communities.

Goals

I consider myself a life-long learner. I began my career as an English teacher in 1997. I taught both at the high school and middle school level.I have earned my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through The University of Vermont. I earned a Library Media Specialist endorsement through UVM. I use the title of Teacher Librarian.  I love the opportunity I have been given at Twinfield and I am currently growing into my new position.

Philosophy
"When in doubt, go to the library." J.K. Rowling

I think the library is the heart of the school. It is the place where all should feel welcome to investigate, collaborate, explore ideas, and simply sink into the magical world of a book. I want students, staff, and our community to feel as though they have a place to exchange ideas. I want to help remove barriers for students and staff and support them on whatever they are working on. I believe in the freedom to explore.
