Art Explorations

Creativity, innovation, technology, history & "Looking to Learn"

Fourth Grade Students started their "schooling from Home" with a cut paper project inspired by Henri Matisse and MarcPaperScissors.

This class then moved into thinking about technology: what it is, where it is, and how it affects their lives. Students looked around their home to find and draw at least 10 objects that "enhance and empower" their lives. Students then had to put on their inventor hat and create some sort of new technology. They came up with some fascinating ideas (homework robots, new logging equipment, perfect pets, and etc)!

One definition of technology is: science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools (www.yourdictionary.com).

Fourth Grade students have also been practicing being creative and working on art skills through choice menus. These menus allow students to choose what they would like to work on. Some have chosen to make puppets, draw from observation, and create the animal of their dreams.
