Welcome to fifth grade!

 I am extremely excited to be your teacher this year. I am looking forward to an exciting and rewarding year. I hope that you are eager to learn and participate making this a year full of discovery.

 Let me tell you a little bit about myself.  My husband Randy and I have 5 children Alex, Ellie, Maddie, Sophie, and Brexton. A couple of years ago my son Alex got married and this last summer my daughter Ellie got married. We added a daughter-in-law, Sophia, and a son-in-law, Kobe, to our family. Last year we added our first grand child to the family. Family is very important to me. 

I LOVE to sing and sing just about everywhere.  I am the person you see singing along to the radio in their car, I sing while I cook, and I sing in class.  I enjoy reading, creating, working in my garden, and playing sports especially ultimate Frisbee and volleyball. 

 I am an adventurous person and a small thrill seeker, meaning I really like roller coasters.  I also like to camp and hike.  Traveling is a favorite pastime of mine.  It gives me an opportunity to see and learn about new places and people.  

One of my greatest loves is teaching. I love to see people learn, I find it exhilarating.  My favorite part of teaching is seeing that moment when the switch flips and the light bulb goes on.  Then you know that knowledge is being created.  

My dream for all of you is to learn to love learning.  As you do this you will learn to be a problem solver.  I hope that you are eager to learn and participate, making this year a year full of discovery.
