Language Arts
We are reading the story The First Tortilla and continuing to find the plot and overall theme. We will continue to learn about adjectives and adverbs this week. In writing, students will focus on writing an opinion paragraph using various sentence starters shared with them.
Math
As we progress through module 5 we review addition and subtraction strategies to subtract 3 digit numbers. Flashcards are a great way to work on fact power. Many kids are making careless errors because they are not secure with their facts.

Extra Information
Michelle Reising is in charge of putting together the yearbook this year. If you have any pictures from our classroom parties or activities that you would be willing to share for the yearbook, we would all be grateful if you could share them. You could send them by email to cloverdale.yearbook@gmail.com.
Earth club is collecting bread tags for recycling. Instead of bread tags ending up in the landfill, we will give them to SCARCE to add to the county's collection. The bread tags will be recycled into wheelchairs for underprivileged children. Please help Cloverdale School help other children and and the Earth by saving bread tags!
***Please make sure your child is reading 20 minutes every day to help them grow as a reader.
