Hi, I'm Ms. Kaydie - the school counselor at Paintbrush Elementary. I am so thankful to get to be a Paintbrush Pirate! I have been a school counselor in CCSD since 2018. I obtained my undergrad degree in 2009 from the University of Mary in Social and Behavioral Sciences. I have two masters degrees: MS in School Counseling from Capella University in 2013 and a MS in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from Montana State University Billings in 2016. I am a Certified School Counselor and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
Welcome to the All About Me page! This is my family - My husband, Allen, is a reading teacher and coach in CCSD and we have four kids: Eli, Easton, Emree, and Ean. We also have two dogs named Finley and Bo!
In my free time, I love to read historical fiction novels, go on family walks, workout with my husband and sisters, dance, sing, play volleyball, and attempt to do crafty things with my kids!
The Role of a School Counselor: Today's school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social-emotional growth, and career development, ensuring today's students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow.
A board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) is a licensed mental health professional who applies the principles of behavioral analysis to assist student/clients with overcoming social, emotional and behavioral problems.
