Medical therapeutic is an n applied course designed to prepare students to pursue careers in therapeutic services. There is not an assigned book for this course we will be using different material through out the semester.

The student will have a minimum of 8 major tests during this course. Quizzes will be used to divide sections of some larger units.
· Medical terminology and abbreviations will be tested weekly
· One formal paper will be required.
· You will read one book related to health care.
· There will be a mid term and a final given.
· Comfort and rest room project: 3-d in a copy box top include: sleeping area, three piece bathroom, sitting area, safety issues, lighting, colors
· Students will also have small projects through out the semester
Supplies: three ring binder and paper, black pen, folder to hold hand outs, index cards
Class work/ homework will be 40% tests/quizzes/ projects 40% midterm/ final 20%
Class and daily work is to be turned in on the day it is assigned in class or when otherwise stated. If work is not turned in it will be deemed late and lose point until turned in If a day is missed and unexcused the work for that day will be a 0 until day is excused. Unexcused absence makeup work will not receive a grade for credit but will need to be completed to complete learning of the standards
Missed work due to excused absences is the responsibility of the student to schedule and complete with in 5 days of return to class. The student must take responsibility for missed work. I will not accept late work at the end of a term or semester after the allotted time frame.
As a member of a Health Science Education class the students are eligible to join Health Occupation Students of America. This is an organization that is an exciting opportunity for the students.
Multi-media is used in class including but not limited to the Internet, TV programming and movies. All movies and programs have been viewed prior to use in the classroom. “Outbreak”, “Tuesdays with Morris” and “John Q” are some of the movies we may watch.
