STEM Corner

STEM education is emphasized in our curriculum so as to enhance students' scientific and mathematical literacy and echo the pedagogical changes. Hence, a STEM Books Corner was set up in the Library, with a total of over 300 titles procured utilizing the Promotion of Reading Grant.

作者原只有小學學歷，但因非常喜歡數學，所以努力不懈地研究數學，後來他的著作都被編入了日本中學及大學的數學課本。這本書記敘了很多數學歷史中的小故事及一些數學概念的由來。透過了解數學的來龍去脈，加深我們對那些概念的認識。其中一個故事提到古埃及人如何使用幾何學去處理尼羅河氾濫帶來的問題。書中亦收集了一些有趣的練習題，不需要高階的數學解題技巧，只需動動腦筋，也能輕鬆閱讀此書。書中最後的部分講的是學習的態度，其中包含了他自己的故事。
