Reading Talk-cum-Book Display

In view of fostering a reading culture and broadening students' reading perspectives, Miss Leung Lee Chi (梁莉姿) was invited to be our guest speaker of the Chinese Reading Talk targeted at S4 students. The theme of the talk was 文學行旅, and the students gained good insights into the genre of travel literature, which encompasses travel memoirs and first-hand accounts of observations made in writing while voyaging. The talk was stimulating and inspiring to our students, especially to those studying Chinese Literature. 

Miss Winsome Lee (李衍蒨), a forensic anthropologist, was invited to be our guest speaker of the Reading Talk for the whole school. The theme of the talk was forensic anthropology and archaeology, and it was held during the assembly on 2nd December 2022. To echo the launch of the talk, a theme-based book display was arranged during that period.

In view of fostering a reading culture and broadening students' reading perspectives, Miss Yau Yan Ni (游欣妮) was invited to be our guest speaker of the Chinese Reading Talk targeted at S1 and S2 students. Being the winner of numerous awards like Ten Top Picks Award and My Favourite Author for Secondary School Students organized by the Hong Kong Education City, Miss Yau has gained much support from the young readers in recognition of her works.

The theme of the talk was 讀寫的趣味, and the guest speaker offered practical advice on how to find inspiration from various sources and develop a consistent writing routine. Besides that, she also shared motivational anecdotes and success stories related to reading and writing, and encouraged our students to incorporate reading and writing into their daily lives. Stimulating and inspiring, the talk ended with enthusiastic responses from our students in the question-and-answer session.

On 12 March 2025, our school hosted an inspiring reading talk titled 「科普作品的閱讀與欣賞」 during the school assembly. Students gathered to explore the captivating world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics literature. The talk featured engaging discussions about various influential STEM books, highlighting their impact on our understanding of these essential subjects. The host speaker, Dr. Felix Chao (Senior Lecturer of the Chinese University of Hong Kong) shared his favorite titles and insights, fostering a community of curiosity and appreciation for STEM. The event concluded with a lively Q&A session, allowing students to delve deeper into the topics discussed. It was a wonderful celebration of reading and its power to inspire future innovators! 

On 23rd January 2026, the school organized an inspiring Reading Talk for S1 and S2 students, featuring the insightful speaker, 灰若 Miss Rosie. During the post-exam session, Miss Rosie captivated the audience with her discussion on the topic "如何透過閱讀英文圖書提升英文” which emphasized how reading English books can significantly enhance language skills. Students were encouraged to explore various genres and develop effective reading strategies to boost their comprehension and vocabulary. The event was a valuable opportunity for students to engage with literature and gain practical tips for improving their English proficiency.
