Text Types and Features -- Fill in the KWL JamBoard slides for Brochures, Cartoons, Comics
Take a look through this folder of political cartoons found by past students. With a partner, discuss how you would approach the guiding question, "How do text and image work together to shape meaning in this political cartoon?"
Find a political cartoon that relates to your country. add it to this folder (I've already put some in regarding Canada).
Lesson 3
Choose one political cartoon from either this folder and the one you all put together today.
Create a P1 outline based on the guiding question, "How do text and image work together to shape meaning in this political cartoon?"
You are not being timed today, however, you will be on Thursday. Remember, you will have approximately 20 minutes (5 minutes reading, 5 minutes annotation, and 10 minutes outline writing) in a Paper 1 situation.
HW: Submit your outline to the dropbox scheduled for the end of this lesson. We will debrief your findings on the Jamboard and taking a look through the political cartoons you've collated at the beginning of tomorrow's lesson.
