Kickstart your orchestral journey! Beginners will dive into the world of music, learning about their chosen instrument, proper playing positions, the techniques of pizzicato and arco, and even playing their first melodies. All of this while forging friendships in a vibrant summer camp atmosphere.

For budding musicians at the beginner level, don't worry about acquiring an instrument and accessories because we've got you covered. We'll provide instruments, but please note that selection will depend on our available inventory and the right size for your hands and arm length. If you have smaller fingers, we may recommend the violin for your summer camp experience. However, if you already have an instrument in the correct size, feel free to bring it along. Ensuring the right instrument size is absolutely crucial for your child's success. 

In addition to the core music class, all campers have the chance to choose from a variety of planned recreational and enrichment activities. These options include kickball, fiber arts, bucket drumming, nature walk, conducting, and more, making for a well-rounded and engaging summer camp experience.

As the class wraps up, we'll share valuable information about instrumental rentals and how to connect with a private teacher. This way, you can continue your musical journey well beyond this year's camp adventure.

GRADES:

Students who will be entering grades 4-7 in the fall. Sorry, we cannot accept younger campers in 2025.

PREREQUISTE SKILLS NEEDED:

None. This class is for absolute beginners; however, returning campers are welcome!
