COOKING

FACT: Cooking is the leading cause of home fires and injuries. 

HEATING

FACT: Heating equipment should be 3 ft. away from anything that can burn.

FACT: Fire spreads fast! You may have as little as 3 minutes to escape.               

SMOKE ALARMS

FACT: 3 out of 5 fire deaths occur in homes with no working smoke alarms.

WORKING SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES!

sMOKE ALARM SOUNDS

Test all smoke alarms, battery powered and hard-wired , once a month. Vacuum and /or dust around the alarms regularly to keep them clean. 

wHERE sHOULD YOU PLACE SMOKE ALARMS?

Install at least one alarm on each level of your home.  It is recommended to have one in each sleeping area and outside of sleeping areas. 

NEED SMOKE ALARMS?

The purpose of the Smoke Alarm Program is to ensure a minimum of one working smoke alarm exists on each occupied level of a home. If smoke alarms are needed at your home, Chesterfield Fire and EMS will provide and install them at no charge.
