Parents and Guardians:
During the week of February 28 - March 4th, SPS will be celebrating Read Across America Week. SPS wants to invite you to read to your child’s classroom, however, due to COVID restrictions this will need to look differently this year.
SPS wants to give you the opportunity to read “virtually” to your child or children’s classroom. To do this you will need to record yourself reading a book and send it by email to your child’s teacher for the children to view OR you and your child’s teacher can set up a GOOGLE MEET or Zoom meeting time for you to read a story LIVE to the classroom. The students love to have “new” adults to read to them. You can dress up as a character or be a Mystery Guest. The reading would need around 15 minutes in length. We would like to get preliminary information from those of you who would like to take advantage of the parent involvement opportunity. ALL parents or guardians please send the completed form below to school by Friday, February 11th so we know that you have received this letter. If you plan to take this opportunity for more than 1 of your children, please fill out a form for each child.
Thank you in advance for your participation!

February 28 - March 4th
Pre-K through 5th grade students and their families were given the opportunity to participate in a kind this activity. The families were asked to watch a Kindness a Story Video (links on school website and handout that was sent home) for the appropriate grade level with their family. Then after listening to the story the family was asked to talk about the story of kindness and how to be kind to others. Next, the students were asked to draw a picture of how he or she can be kind (PK,K) or draw a picture and write about how the students show kindness (1st-5th). Lastly, the family was asked to fill out a survey about the activity. The lightbulbs were displayed on the bulletin board in the cafeteria and students were given a "Kindness of Certificate" for participating in the activity.
On October 29, 2021, Title I Staff participated in the St. Paul School Halloween drive-thru event.
