Lessons are free of charge and occur during the school day. 

Music & Arts is our preferred vendor for instrumental rentals. Renting is recommended for the first year of lessons.

There are school-owned instruments available for families that can not afford to rent. 

Students will receive one 30-minute lesson per week, and are pulled from their regular classes.

The lesson schedule will rotate so students are not always missing the same class.

If there is a student or teacher absence from school, I will do my best to arrange a makeup lesson the following day.

There will be a weekly update email with the lesson schedule, concert information, and upcoming events. This information will be sent to the email address(es) you provide when you fill out the enrollment form.

Students will receive a grade for band or orchestra on their report card, using the "EE", ME", "AE", or "HD" grade format.

Students are expected to bring their instrument and music to school on their lesson day.

Students are expected to take their instrument and music home at the end of the day.

School buses will allow instruments to be transported, with the exception of the string bass. 

If your child chooses to play bass, you will be responsible for transporting the instrument to and from school.

Students are expected to practice their instrument at home.

Students in Year One of lessons are expected to perform in the Spring Concert, which will be taking place in May. 

Students in Year Two of lessons are expected to perform in the Winter AND Spring Concert.

Be sure to select the correct enrollment form for your school.

Fill out the requested information, but take special care to ensure the following:

1. You may enter as many email addresses as you like. Each email address listed will receive the weekly update.

2. Choose two different instruments that your child would like to play. Please do not choose the same instrument twice.

3. Read the percussion policy. This is a new policy for the 2025-2026 school year.

4. Once I receive your enrollment, I will send a confirmation email with further instructions about the instrument selection & fitting process.

5. WAIT for the instrument selection and fitting process before renting, purchasing, or requesting an instrument.
