Band and Orchestra lessons are on a pull-out schedule. This means that once a week, students are pulled from their regular classes for a 30-minute lesson.
The day of the lesson will be consistent for the entire school year. If your child is assigned a lesson on a Monday, for example, their lesson will always be on a Monday.
The time of the lesson is on a three week rotation. This ensures students are not being pulled out of the same class every week.
Weekly lesson schedules are emailed to teachers and families every Sunday evening. If you are not receiving these emails, let me know at jmyers@ccps.org
To ensure student privacy, I do not publish schedules on this website, but here is an example:
Monday:
"Sarah's" lesson is from 10:00 - 10:30
Monday:
"Sarah's" lesson is from 1:00 - 1:30
Monday:
"Sarah's" lesson is from 3:00 - 3:30
PASSES
Students have the option to receive a "reminder pass" with their time on it.
Students can pickup these "passes" in the morning when they drop off their instruments.
If your child is absent from school on the day of their lesson, I will schedule a make-up if possible.
If your child forgets to come to their lesson, I will allow one reschedule per marking period. I'll be in touch via email in the event that this happens.
If your child is struggling academically in a class and you would prefer them NOT to be pulled, please contact me at jmyers@ccps.org. I will work on customizing a schedule for your child so they can be successful in both classes.
If there is a 2-hour delay or early dismissal, your child will still have a lesson that day.
In the event school is canceled for inclement weather, there will be no lessons. Lessons will be rescheduled if possible.
In the event I am absent from school, there will be no lessons. Lessons will be reschedule if possible.
