STANDARD VIOLIN EQUIPMENT

Here is the list of basic equipment for Violinists. Your instrument should have came with these, but sometimes accidents happen or we need replacements.

A Note on Shoulder Rests

Shoulder Rests are vital to successful violin playing, and are a requirement for orchestra class. I recommend either Everest or Kuhn brand shoulder rests for students. 

I have listed Everest below because, in my experience,  they're more durable, less expensive, and come in fun colors. If you have a Kuhn that is great too! I play on a Kuhn.

Be sure you have the correct size shoulder rest for your child's violin. If you do not know what size violin they play, email me at jmyers@ccps.org and I'll let you know!

Upgraded Strings

Switching to higher quality strings can improve a violinists sound. Strings should be changed once year, or more, depending on playing habits. 

I will put new strings on for you once they arrive.
