Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Dear families,
Happy New Year and it has been lovely to welcome pupils back for the new term. It has been an extremely positive, if rather cold, start to the new year. I was particularly impressed with how smart pupils looked on their return to school on Tuesday and pupils have continued to impress with their excellent conduct and attitudes to learning. Year 13 pupils are also working hard during their mock examinations this week.
The weather this week has seen ice and heavy rain and I have been impressed with how sensibly pupils have behaved in the extreme weather. I would like to remind parents/carers to ensure pupils have appropriate clothing for extreme weather and to ensure pupils allow plenty of time to arrive at school before the start of the day at 8.35am, particularly when the weather is challenging. In the unlikely event that the colder weather creates snowy conditions, I will always inform parents/carers of any changes to the school day before 6.30am where possible.
I am talking to pupils in assemblies over this week and next and considering the successes of 2025 and what we want to achieve in 2026 to make sure we continue to Advance All the Way. Our motto of Advance All the Way extends to our school premises and over the holidays there was more work to continue to improve the school building and I am pleased to share that the DT roof is now finished. Work has also started to repair the roof over the English corridor, and this should be completed by the end of next week.
Finally, I would like to remind parents/carers that our first parent voice meeting of the academic year will take place on Tuesday 27th January 2026 6-7pm in person. Should you wish to join the group please email info@ccfplus.com (regular members do not need to do so) and I look forward to discussing school-wide issues, with the agenda including: extra-curricular clubs; homework; and assessment.
I would like to wish you all a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
