7th grade curriculum: In seventh grade we have fun with design and explore identity through expressive self portraits. Have you ever imagined customizing or designing your own shoe? You know, a pair that perfectly compliments your style or personality? Whether you have or not, I know you’ll love testing your creativity to design the ultimate shoe for a friend, family member, or teacher. After designing for a client we switch gears to create an artwork focused on your identity. This choice based exploration of symbolism and collage techniques gives you the opportunity to create a portrait as unique as you are!
You should expect to keep a sketchbook and maintain a digital portfolio. This is a great way to see personal progress and adopt the real world practices of artists and creatives!
