You can ask your questions multiple ways:
Comment on my posts on the "Stream" in Google Classroom- Everyone will see (this could be helpful, some students might have the same question)
Post a "Private Comment" on the assignment you are in- Only I can see this
It is important that you post your question in a comment box. Posting in a comment box will send me a notification email. If you create a personal post on the stream, I will not be notified.
Plagiarism & Cheating Policy I am committed to your success. I do, however, have zero toleration for plagiarism and cheating. You might say it is an academic thing or maybe even a military thing, but I suspect that you would want credit if you discovered a new animal or invented a new dance that has captured Tik Tok's attention.
Give credit where credit is due and when in doubt, cite using MLA, APA, or Turabian / Chicago Style.
Copying information straight from the internet, to include ChatGPT, is plagiarism no matter what kind of assignment it is, this includes handouts.
In addition, copying answers or work from another student is strictly prohibited and will count as plagiarism and/or cheating. Students will complete their own work on all assignments.
Any instances of plagiarism will result in an immediate discipline referral according to the LHS and CCBOE student handbooks.
Giving credit actually aids you in appealing to your credibility and trustworthiness.
A little about me
I have been teaching in Columbia County since Fall 2017. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) after 20 years of active duty service in 2017. During my time in the Army, I served eight years as a Quartermaster Officer, 12 years as a Logistics Officer, and taught at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, and Jacksonville State University. I earned a Baccalaureate in History from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I have two Master's degrees: my Master’s in English from the University of Nebraska and Master's in Teaching (Secondary Education, US History).
I have served with the 101st Airborne Division, the 4th Infantry Division, the 82nd Airborne Division, and the 10th Mountain Division. I served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. My last military duty was as the Professor of Military Science at Jacksonville State University’s Senior ROTC program. I earned the Parachutist’s Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Pathfinder Badge.
I am married and have five amazing kids. I enjoy mountain biking and hiking. I am teaching currently US History and Personal Financial Literacy.
I am new to Greenbrier High School this year and look forward to new opportunities to serve the school. I have coached a PBIS Team, teacher lead for Model UN, coach for the JROTC Raider Adventure Team, coach for the JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl Team, and coached the LHS Rifle Team.
