Course Overview
Students will learn basic guitar skills that include strumming, note reading and tablature, chords, beginning improvisation, and playing in an ensemble.

Folder with pockets for handouts and additional music
Grading
Formative – Classwork and daily participation 40%
Summative – Weekly Playing test 30%, Written Exams 30%
Final – 20%
Classroom Expectations
-Be Respectful of all people in the classroom. Treat instruments in a professional manner. Do not write on instruments or stands. Keep the classroom tidy and leave it the way it was when you entered.
-Responsibility – be on time and bring all supplies to class.
- Effort – Participation is required in class. Try your best and you will improve your musicianship through practice.
-No food in class
-No cell phones in class
