ABOUT ME

Welcome to year two of CVA!! This is going to be a great year!

This year I will serve as the instructor for Health, Personal Fitness and Middle School Physical Education here at the Columbia County Virtual Academy (as I am sure you can see from my "CLASSES" above).

I am a retired educator, having taught 31 years in the state of Georgia. For the past ten years I have also served as an adjunct faculty member at Augusta University in the College of Education and Department of Kinesiology. That is until I became part of the CVA Family.

While teaching in the Columbia County School District previously, I taught at Evans High School where I coached basketball and track for much of my tenure and taught Health and Personal Fitness.

When I retiredsix years ago, I made a move to the lake and have not regretted it one bit. My 4 pups (I am sure you will see their photos from time to time) seem to approve of the move as well.

I truly look forward to meeting each of you as the semester moves forward and am expecting that we will share a fantastic semester!

McCullough's Expectations

  • As I teach Physical Education and Health, my biggest expectation is that you get moving! (Even on days we don't have live meets! We will discuss this more during our first week of classes, but I want you to be prepared!)

  • I also EXPECT you to TRY all of the assigned activities. Over the course of the semester we will TRY different activities. I don't expect you will be a professional at all of them but I do expect you to try everything. Who knows, you might find a new favorite!

  • Be engaged! Talk to your classmate, and to me, during classes. You may just make a new friend or two!!

  • ENJOY yourself!! With all the stress you have with the other classes, I expect you to use MY 30 minutes each day to be active and "be stress free"!! It is a proven fact that physical activity helps relieve stress....let's give it a try!
