Welcome to 6th Grade Physical Education!

Course Description: The Physical Education Program in 6th grade provides for physical, mental, social, and emotional skill development, which will be continued in the high school program. The emphasis in the 6th grade Physical Education program is to develop this understanding and skill through participation in physical activity.

Activities: Activities will be presented to develop understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

Physical Fitness: Our PE class will do a variety of run/walk activities throughout the semester to improve cardiovascular endurance. Each student will also be encouraged to discover other healthy physical activities to enjoy during the semester.

Health: Wellness and Health will be incorporated throughout the semester through various activities.

Grading: Will be posted on your class page.

Class Set Up: We will meet for 2 live sessions each week. The first session of the week will explain the assignments for the week, while the second will be primarily to answer any questions you might have and /or discuss any ideas or concerns you have about the class. These session days and times will be emailed to you along with the class codes you will need to access our class page. On days we do not have meets you will have a daily assignment, usually involving gettint out and moving!

Medical Issues: If your child has medical concerns, please do not hesitate to send an email addressing the concern.

Google Meets: Please sign in early to all live sessions on Google Meets. Time and date will be posted on Google Classroom and emailed to each student assigned to the class.
