Steele Associates Architects, LLC

The Coos Bay Schools Bond Project Team is growing! Steele Associates Architects, LLC, has been contracted to provide design services for both the new schools where Eastside and Harding now stand, as well as the renovations at Millicoma, Madison and Sunset Schools. We are very excited to have them on board! Steele Associates is based in Bend, Oregon, and has worked on other projects in the Coos Bay area including the new FedEx Ground Facility and Facilities for ODOT.

Founder Scott Steele is a native Oregonian and an educational design expert with nearly 30 years’ experience. Derek Olson, the team’s Project Manager, is a local, who grew up and attended school here. Adam Stephen, who will perform quality control reviews for Steele, has deep local roots. His mother and many other family members attended school here, his grandfather, Wayne B. Young, worked for the District for 36 years, and his great-grandparents (Wayne Sr. and Mary Young) were both teachers in the district. Project Civil Engineer, Jim Pex, is also from Coos Bay, and has family living here.

Steele Associates Architects Team is excited to be working with the District and brings with them a team with wide ranging skill sets, including Interface Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing), Froelich Engineering (Structural), Century West Engineering (civil/survey), Halliday Associates (kitchen), J Battleson Designs (landscape), and ACC Cost Consultants. Century West currently also serves as City's Transportation Engineer for the City of Coos Bay.
