There are four educational tracts or courses of study at CBBC.
MINISTRY
This course of study is designed to prepare called men of God for the ministry that they have been called to. This degree is only available to men who are called by God into a particular area of ministry such as pastoring, preaching, evangelism, missions, etc. Associate (A. Min.) and Bachelor (B. Min.) degrees are available in this course of study. To earn an A. Min. requires a minimum of 60 credit hours (20 classes) with a “C” or higher average in each class. To earn a B. Min. requires an additional 60 credit hours (20 classes) with a “C” or higher average in each class. A minimum of a Bachelor’s in this course of study is required for all called men of God before entering a graduate level course of study.
BIBLICAL STUDIES
This course of study is designed to provide students with deeper and more thorough knowledge of the word of God, the Church and its history, cults, prophecy, biblical and national history, other religions and much more. This is a great course of study for those that just want to learn the Bible or those who may be called of God to teach at all levels. Associate (A.B.S), Bachelor’s (B.B.S), Master’s (M.B.S) and Doctorate (D.B.S) degrees are available in this course of study. To earn an A.B.S requires a minimum of 60 credit hours (20 classes) with a “C” or higher average in each class. To earn a B.B.S. requires an additional 60 credit hours (20 classes) with a “C” or higher average in each class. After a Bachelor in Ministry or Biblical Studies has been earned, students may then
apply to the Masters of Biblical Studies program which requires an additional 60 credit hours for completion (18 classes plus an approved thesis). A “C” or higher is required in each class and for the thesis. At the completion of the Masters of Biblical Studies program, students are eligible to apply for the Doctor of Biblical Studies program which requires an additional 60 credit hours for completion (15 classes plus an approved dissertation). A “C” or higher is required in each class and for the dissertation.
RELIGION
This course of study is an advanced research degree that allows the student to specialize in a particular area of study or ministry. Upon the satisfactory completion of the course work, the student will have graduated with the highly respected degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Religion (Ph. D.). To apply for the Doctor of Philosophy in Religion program, the student must have a minimum of a Doctor of Biblical Studies degree from CBBC or equivalent from an approved educational institution. The student will submit three possible research topics for their dissertation. The faculty will then select a topic from the three submitted by the student for the student to begin the research and preparation portion of this course. This research will be reviewed and critiqued periodically by the faculty of CBBC. Upon completion of the research and dissertation, the student will submit copies of their dissertation for review to a panel selected by the faculty of CBBC. After a thorough review, a date will be set for the student to both present and defend their dissertation before this panel. The panel will then convene and vote to either accept or reject this dissertation and its defense. If it is accepted, the student will be required to fund and submit the content of their dissertation for publishing. Once published, the student will have completed all of the requirements for graduation, and the degree of Ph.D. will be conferred on them. If it is rejected, the student will resubmit the dissertation with the corrections or clarifications needed for acceptance, and then re-present and defend it before the panel. This process will continue until the panel accepts the dissertation.
CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
This course of study is a satellite program that is taught by Bro. Justin McCracken, pastor of New Grace Baptist Church in Bristol, VA. The CBBC Certificate Program is designed for students who seek to "test the waters" of biblical, higher education without the commitment of a degree program. Classes are held primarily on site, but online options are available for eligible students. Students who complete the certificate program that wish to continue their education with CBBC are eligible for credit transfer pending certain eligibility requirements are met.
