Online Teacher Tools

LucidChart:

An equivalent to Microsoft Visio, this cloud based tool supports teachers and students to create visual representation of their thinking. While other work arounds, such as Google Drawing, can be used LucidChart has become one of the most widely adopted third party tools in education.

Lucid Press:

This cloud based publishing software is the equivalent to Microsoft Publisher and can act as a substitute for teachers who have previously used Canva.

These programs have a free and paid EDU version. The premium EDU version can be accessed through negotiate CEnet licence agreement.

A cloud based equivalent to iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, WeVideo allows students to quickly create short films online and save their work to Google Drive. While lacking the collaborative interface of most cloud enabled apps, the programs integration with Drive allows for easy import of film and audio files.

WeVideo has a iMovie style basic editing mode, as well as a more advanced multi-timeline editing mode. Upper primary students will quickly move to the advanced mode once they become familiar with the basics of video editing.

The tool allows students to create a limited number of short watermarked movies before requiring each user to be licensed.
