During the 2020/21 school year when HPS was on Plan A and Plan B, VR scenes were used to highlight effective strategies for live, synchronous learning for in-person and remote learners. This scene illustrates a lesson including teacher instruction, student interactivity, uses of the LMS and ways the teacher delivers content in the hybrid model. Mrs. Goode was a 1st year beginning teacher.

Mrs. Delaina Bryan began personalizing her classroom instruction in 2019 after learning about it from colleagues in Shuford Elementary in nearby Newton-Conover City Schools. Mrs. Bryan quickly became a school and district leader in Catawba County due to her passion for personalizing learning and her focus on pinpointing the learning targets to each and every student in her classroom.
