My name is Diana Coffey and I am employed as a Crisis Teachers Assistant at Compass Academy. I began my career as a teachers assistant in Caldwell County. I was hired as a TA for a classroom that was created specifically for students with Autism. While in Caldwell County I also had the opportunity to work with other individuals who had other types of physical and intellectual differences.
I remained employed in Caldwell County until 2013 when I was hired as a county-wide Crisis TA that work in conjunction with the Behavior Team for Catawba County Schools. I received my Associates of Science with a concentration in intellectual and developmental disabilities in 2014 from Minot State University.
In 2015, after working at Compass with a student for over 9 weeks, I inquired as to the possibility of whether or not I could remain at Compass as a Crisis Teachers Assistant. I was offered a position and I gladly accepted it. In my spare time I like to read. I love spending e time with my family but especially with my grandchildren.
The 2019-2020 school year will be my fourth year at Compass Academy. I am looking forward to another great year with the students and staff.
