TXRL Leadership Convening
MARCH 2026
OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this TXRL Leadership Convening is to provide space, experience, and a collective brain trust for the TXRL leadership/ vertical team to:
Manage Complex Change at the Implementation Stage | Use the Knoster framework, Rubik’s cube metaphor, and TXRL cohort data to make sense of what happens when we move from adoption to implementation of structured literacy and HQIM across a district system.
Differentiate Instructional Planning from HQIM Internalization | Clearly distinguish traditional instructional planning from HQIM internalization and rehearsal, and understand why this shift is especially critical for K–3 structured literacy.
Strengthen Systems that Support HQIM Internalization & Delivery | Examine and refine the systems, structures, and routines (PLCs, planning time, protocols, scheduling, roles) that help teachers internalize HQIM lessons and deliver them with fidelity, responsiveness, and confidence.
Build Leadership & Principal Capacity for Observation and Feedback | Explore how principal supervisors, principals, coaches, and C&I teams can work together to build expertise in observing structured literacy instruction, using aligned walkthrough tools / look-fors and learning walks to provide specific, HQIM-aligned feedback, even while expertise is still developing.
