HQIM Internalization & Rehearsal
**Note: District leaders attend the workshops in this series alongside campus literacy leadership teams. Their role is not observational. They are present to set context, name the urgency, signal shared accountability for the structures and moves that campus leaders will examine and strengthen throughout the series, and identify where campus leaders need support to do this work effectively.
Objectives: The purpose of this workshop is to help campus literacy leadership team (and the district leaders who support them):
Differentiate Planning from Internalization | Distinguish HQIM internalization and instructional rehearsal from traditional lesson planning and resource preparation, and understand why strong internalization is a critical driver of effective instruction and favorable outcomes.
Experience the Work of Internalization | Engage in the full internalization and rehearsal cycle using an authentic HQIM lesson to develop a shared understanding of the knowledge, preparation, and instructional decision-making required for effective implementation.
Analyze the Campus Internalization System | Examine the campus conditions that support high-quality internalization, including quality, time and structures, alignment, and leadership involvement, and identify the barriers limiting consistent implementation.
Strengthen Campus Structures for High-Quality Internalization | Determine how campus leaders will strengthen the time, structures, expectations, accountability, and support needed to ensure consistent, high-quality internalization and instructional rehearsal across classrooms.
