Sally Ormandy

It is my privilege to be our co-lead Tumuaki / Principal of our awesome Kāhui Ako. My role as co-lead Tumuaki / Principals  is to strengthen and grow the capabilities and capacity of our four Across School Leads (ASLs) to ensure we are meeting the Achievement Challenges (goals) as set by our Stewardship Group (governance group made up of leaders from our 8 kura and 30 ECE). Meagan Kelly

Tēnā koutou katoa, Kā mihi ki te mana whenua o tēnei takiwā, Kai Tahu, tēnā koutou. Kei te mihi au ki aku hoa mahi ki Te Mana Raupō, tēnā koutou.

Kō wai au? Nō Ikarani me Aerana me Kānata ōku tīpuna. I tipu ake au i Kānata me Aotearoa. Kei Ōtautahi tōku kāika ināianei. Ko tumuaki ahau ki te Kura o Ōhinetahi. Ko Meagan Kelly tōku ikoa.

I took up the mantle as the Co-Lead Principal for the kura and ECE in Te Mana Raupō at the beginning of 2024. I am grateful to be working alongside Sally Ormandy as co-lead, and a strong team of tumuaki and DPs in the stewardship group. I strongly believe in the collaborative powers of kāhui ako, and often refer to this whakataukī:

Ehara taku toa i te takitahi, he toa takitini

My strength is not as an individual but as a collective

I look forward to working with you all to share, debate and improve teaching and learning across our kāhui and ultimately to positively impact outcomes for all ākoka. Nō reira, Mauri ora ki a tātou.

Marée Bigelow

Tēnā koutou e hoa mā. Ko Marée tōku ingoa. Ko Bigelow tōku whānau. I’m Marée, an Across School Lead in Mathematics and Statistics. We have an achievement challenge of raising confidence and ensuring our ākonga are progressing in Mathematics, with a focus on using e-ASTTLe data effectively. I have been in this role for nearly three years and it has been a privilege to work alongside staff across the Kāhui. We are gaining traction in our understanding and use of data literacy and research. Because our goal is to improve teacher practice and pedagogy, I took part in the focus group developing the Common Practice Model. I am currently studying towards my Masters in Education, and am an experienced PD facilitator. I have been leading mathematics at St Mark's for five years now and have taken part in the fast testing of the new curriculum, so I can help your kura understand the ongoing curriculum changes. I welcome any questions. To contact me, please e-mail m.bigelow@saintmarks.school.nz

Vanessa van Hoof

Ko Vanessa ahau, nō Ōtautahi. Kia ora koutou - I’m Vanessa and I’m our ASL for the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories Curriculum, which became compulsory in 2023.

The main focus of my role is the implementation of the Aotearoa New Zealand Histories and wider Social Sciences Curriculum Refresh. As a kaiako with over 20 years experience teaching Tikanga-a-Iwi/ Social Studies, History and Classical Studies, I can work with you in your classes/ centres and run activities for ākonga; facilitate PD and source or create resources you need to teach our history with confidence. Please check out what we already have on this site - there are ready to use resources right there. Please email me with any pātai/ questions: vhv@cashmere.school.nz

Lisa Collier

Kia ora koutou. This is my second year as an AST, and I love it! I am a qualified speech-language therapist, as well as a teacher, and have a passion for Literacy. I have just handed in my Master of Science (Speech-Language Sciences) thesis based around a structured approach to literacy. The other part of the Masters was around clinical supervision (in particular supervising SLT students in supporting learners with literacy, language and speech difficulties).

I have completed Literacy PD in Sounds-Write, MSL (Multisensory Structured Language), the Science of Writing (Helen Walls), supporting literacy learners with DLD and have listened to/ watched/ read hundreds of hours of literacy based content. I am currently immersed in research around reading comprehension, and writing. Please send anything of interest my way!

I would love to be of assistance in supporting our Kāhui Ako kura and ECEs with their Literacy journeys however I can and welcome any questions or ideas: lisa.collier@beckenham.school.nz
