Laying the foundations of feeling and hearing the music to prepare to be a tuneful, beatful, and artful person for the rest of your child's life, music class teaches the beginnings of sensitivity and awareness of musical skills , preparing the child to enjoy music for their entire lives.
Music class also prepares the young musician for a more confident start into the band and/or choral programs in 4th or 5th grade if they so choose to join!
Mr. Eutsey's Core General Music Class Curriculum focuses on the John Feirabend method of teaching music elements for the primary grades, Kindergarten - 3rd grade.
Being tuneful, beatful, and artful!
Recorder instruments are introduced to all 3rd graders in the second half of their year, providing an instrumental primer for students to spark interest in potentially joining the band program in 4th grade.
The Feierabend Method is also implemented in 4th and 5th grade, however more elements are introduced such as Junkyard Percussion, World Drumming, Boomwackers, the Orff-Schulwerk method using classroom xylophones, marimbas, and learning Music History by learning about composers and styles of music on MusicFirst.
