Dr.Faizal Hajamohideen , Assistant Professor in the Information Technology Department, In this research work we propose DL algorithms for efficient detection of neurological disorders - focusing mainly on Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Schizophrenia. The study will analyze the MRI data gathered from different modalities such as functional and structural MRI. Please contact me if you would like more information
Dr. Mohamed Abdul Karim Sadiq, Assistant Professor in the Information Technology Department, is conducting research applying Natural Language Processing on jobs datasets. The objective is normalisation of employability pathways in Oman. The research aims to automate the matching of candidates to right jobs, as it is a herculean task to process them manually. This involves understanding of multiple formats and styles between English and Arabic texts. The research will investigate possible avenues for tackling the relevant problems associated in this regard and benefit the citizens and residents of Oman. Mrs Afaf Al Alawi, An assistant lecturer at the IT department is working on a model of integrating Information technology and Operational technology. The project meant to fill the gap between the gained knowledge of graduates in IT and the actual needed knowledge in a world that is rapidly changing. The study will provide a model that higher educational institutions can adapt on their curriculum. The model is focusing on IT major for now but might be expanded later to fit other major at the university. The model is helping the graduates specially to fit in working environment easier . Mrs.Arwa AlBusaidi, Assistant Lecturer in Information security at UTAS-suhar . My major area of research is focused on adaptive security and specifically on the use of stochastic methods in low energy encryption, as well as on stochastic data mining and log file analysis for network forensics and network intrusion detection systems .Currently , I am holding funding from TRC under the a GRG scope, this funding is for a project titled " Balancing Security and Privacy with Data Usefulness and Efficiency in Wireless Sensor Network ", it's investigating the security elements in wireless security networks , and how to maintain the security of data and reliability .
Mrs.Dhiya Hamed Al-Saqri, IT lecturer at UTAS-Suhar- is currently working on Motion detecting system to provide a safe and clever solution in using public electronic services by using Touch-free technology. So, users can navigate systems and make their tasks without having a physical touch on screens. This solution would provide a safe environment for those who seek for information and services specially in airports and malls during the pandemic.
