Who supports the abortion policy?

• Democrats such as Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Nancy Pelosi are all in favor of protecting a woman's right to choose and they say that they will fight to keep access to abortion legal in America.

• They are all in favor of the Roe V. Wade laws which safe guarded the right to an abortion on a national level. This law protects a female's right to have an abortion until viability. Viability is when the baby can survive outside the womb.

Joe Biden

• Joe Biden says that he wants to pass a law that will protect a woman's right to an abortion and this is something that liberal states have been moving towards for years.

• Joe Biden also states that he will revoke the Gag Rule. The Gag Rule would block people from going to planned parenthood centers. This would leave people with nowhere to go for care.

Kamala Harris

• Kamala Harris wants to make sure that the states who have more anti-abortion beliefs would have to get pre-clearance by the Department of Justice before they are able to pass any laws against the procedure.

• Kamala Harris has sponsored the “Women's Health Protection Act”.

• Kamala Harris has sponsored the “EACH Woman Act”.

Nancy Pelosi

• Nancy Pelosi believes anti-abortion beliefs are dangerous for a Woman’s health because if some woman follow through with a pregnancy she or the baby may die.

• According to www.ontheissues.org Nancy Pelosi voted NO on banning partial birth abortions, banning family planning funding, and on funding for health providers who don’t provide information on abortions.

Pro Abortion Arguments

• Woman should be able to do whatever they want with their own bodies.

• Joe Biden pledges that he believes and will support the right of privacy and that whatever happens to a woman's body should be her choice.

• By banning abortions you would be infringing on woman's health because many woman don’t have abortions just to not be pregnant anymore, they have them because if they do have a baby them or the baby may die.

• The constitutional right of abortion should be protected and the woman’s choice shouldn't be interrupted by the government. (Roe V. Wade)

• Some people support it but don’t if the baby is past 24 weeks old. That is because at that point the baby would be able to survive outside the womb.
