President Donald Trump: Pro life or Pro choice

Donald Trump has very strong anti abortion views. He believes in the fight for life and life should not be wasted . Although, he does have three exceptions: rape, incest, and for the protection of the mother. Trump is proud of how far they have come with 105 new federal judges, 2 supreme court justices and the Mexico city policy. Trump is currently in the process of changing Title X. Over four million people rely on title x for income and support but because it supports abortion Trump does not want to see it be funded. "We must stick together and Win for Life in 2020. If we are foolish and do not stay UNITED as one, all of our hard fought gains for Life can, and will, rapidly disappear!"- Donald Trump.

The Vice president, Mike Pence, is an avid supporter of pro life and everything that is against abortion. Pence is very open about his Christian faith and is a frequent speaker at the pro life marches in Washington D.C. Before and after his time at the white house he has done many things to try and limit reproductive rights of women. Pence has supported an anti abortion legislation "that banned abortions sought on the basis of a disability diagnosis or because of a fetus' race or gender, as well as requiring the remains of aborted or miscarried fetuses to be interred or cremated." He is an opponent of planned parenthood and has pushed a bill to decrease Planned Parent hood funding. It doesn't matter if Planned Parent hood is involved in other things like HIV research, if they support abortion he will be after them. Along with President Trump "For three legislative sessions in a row, Pence has introduced legislation that would prevent any entity that provides abortion from receiving funds through Title X." The Trump-Pence administrations goal is clear that they wan to strip Planned Parent hood of cash so they are no longer able to provide abortions.

Mitch Mcconnel is the republican senate majority leader and he is very pro life. His acts to stop abortion won't end until his control of the Senate does. In February 2020 Mcconnel prioritized a series of votes that would limit women's access to an abortion and jail the doctors that perform them and provide protected health care. Mcconnel has proposed a bill called "Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act" This bill would ban abortion at 20 weeks which is the time where the unborn fetus can feel pain. Mitch Mcconnel has also proposed the "Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This act would "require that medical professionals give the same, standard care and medical treatment to newborn babies who’ve survived an attempted abortion as any other newborn baby would receive in any other circumstance." Mcconnel wants to make sure the laws reflect the human rights of the newborns. He believes restricting abortion isn't just for limiting the mothers options, its about acknowledging that "a new born baby is a new born baby."
