DAY 8: SPECIAL BONUS DAY!?!

Day eight?! Yes, we know a week has only seven days but we wanted to create one last post to congratulate you on making it through the week. We hope this one-week curriculum was helpful and you began churning out some panels and started to develop a process that will keep you cartooning.

BEYOND THE WORKOUT

If you're interested in learning more about comics, The Center for Cartoon Studies has a few different options available for continuing your pursuit of comics mastery:

  • If you are a student currently attending college, we would be happy to have a CCS instructor digitally visit one of your classes to talk about comics or even come to your school to lead a workshop. More information is available on the outreach page of our website.

  • Every summer and winter CCS offers week-long workshops for students aged 16 and up right here in beautiful White River Junction, Vermont and online! More information is available on the workshop page of our website.

  • We host portfolio reviews a few times a year, if you would like to visit White River Junction and get some more information about the school. We also occasionally do portfolio reviews at comics conventions and zine fests around the USA.

FINAL WORDS by The CCS Team

Between day jobs, family obligations, and the day-to-day deluge of media, it's hard to focus. Carving out time, even a few minutes a day, can prove difficult-we think we should be doing something else "more productive," or view our efforts as too amateurish to warrant continuing. This is unequivocal bullshit as life is richer when we are intimate with our own creative spirit. So please remember that whatever available resources of time, money, and talent you have are the appropriate resources to make comics. There will never be a better time.

Thanks again for working so hard this week and hopefully we'll see you soon in White River Junction, Vermont!
