The 3rd day of the LIKHA SUMMIT 2024, held on October 30, not only highlighted the exciting RAISE TO INNOVATE Pitching Competition, but also featured a dynamic exhibit organized by the RAISE Program and TARA Agri-Aqua. The exhibit served as a platform to showcase the innovative products of incubatees from various sectors, underlining the collaborative spirit of research, development, and entrepreneurship.
Among the exciting products on display were Black Gold Nutri Bar, a health-conscious snack, Scrap Cycle, and Seascoops Danggit Dried Fish Ice Cream, a unique food technology innovation. These products were not only on display but were also available for free tasting, allowing event attendees to sample the innovative creations firsthand. For those interested in taking a piece of innovation home, products were also offered for sale.
Additionally, the exhibit featured posters of granted IP technologies from the Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO), providing an in-depth look into the cutting-edge technologies developed by the institutions involved in the RAISE Program. These posters highlighted the importance of intellectual property rights in fostering innovation and protecting technological advancements for future commercialization.
The exhibitโs primary goal was to promote technologies to a broad range of stakeholders, including industry partners, government representatives, and potential investors, who attended the summit. By bringing together these innovations, the exhibit played a pivotal role in fostering connections, encouraging collaborations, and ensuring that the innovations of the incubatees could reach the wider market and make a lasting impact in their respective fields.
As Dr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa, D.Eng., CSUโs Vice President for Research, Development, Innovation, and Extension, emphasized in his message, the exhibit, alongside the pitching competition, underscores the importance of technology development and the role of innovation in solving pressing societal challenges.
The successful event was a testament to the ongoing efforts of RAISE and TARA Agri-Aqua to nurture and promote groundbreaking ideas through research, development, and entrepreneurial support, paving the way for a more innovative and sustainable future.

RAISE Caraga shone at DOST-PCAARRDโs Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest 2024 as Engr. Silongโs pitch for the Sago Pith Extracting Device won the Best Technology Pitch award and Danggit Dried Fish Ice Cream earned a spot as a Top 10 Finalist in the poster competition.
The RAISE Program in Caraga showcased its innovations at the DOST-PCAARRD Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest (AIPF) held on August 16, 2024, at Royce Hotel and Casino, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. The event featured 22 pioneering technologies in the agriculture, aquatic, and natural resources (AANR) sector, aiming to turn science and technology (S&T) ideas into successful business ventures.
AIPF 2024 spotlighted innovations across four categories: Agri-Aqua Inputs and Products, Food Products, Agricultural/Aquatic Equipment and Machinery, and Other Agri-Aqua Technologies. Representing RAISE Caraga, Dr. Rodel Oclaret from Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT) pitched the Hi-Pro Chick Starter Feeds in the Agri-Aqua Inputs category, while Engr. Lord Boy Silong from Caraga State University (CSU) pitched the Sago Pith Extracting Device in the Agricultural Equipment and Machinery category.
Alongside the pitch fest, the RAISE Caraga team set up a booth to highlight their food and non-food innovations. They showcased products like Tropical Chips Durian, Blackgold Nutribar, Sweet Potato Brownie Bites, Chayote Peanut Bar, and Chookoa Brittles Almond, offering free samples to attract visitors. The booth also provided information materials on developed technologies from FIC Caraga, CSU Main Campus, FIC CSUCC, NEMSU, and ASSCAT. The exhibit aimed to forge partnerships and attract adopters for these innovations.
Meanwhile, DOST Secretary Renato U. Solidum, Jr., DOST-PCAARRD Executive Director Reynaldo V. Ebora, and DOST-PCAARRD TTPD Director Noel Catibog visited the RAISE Caraga booth, expressing their support and appreciation for the regionโs contributions.
The RAISE Caraga team brought home a plaque and a cash prize of โฑ10,000, celebrating their success and reaffirming their role as a leading innovator in advancing AANR technologies in the region.

ELEVATE YOUR AGRIBUSINESS | In addition to showcasing variety of agri-aqua products at the ASPIRE Caraga 2024, partners from the private sector and startup incubators and accelerators also present their programs and support for interested MSMEs, FCAs, and agripreneurs.ย
One of this is the Tara Agri Aqua Technology Business Incubator (TAATBI), a startup funded by DOST-PCAARRD, based in Caraga State University โ Main Campus.
Kenneth Boyles, TAATBI Project Technical Assistant, stated that their program focuses on incubating agriculture and aquatic startups by providing assistance from product development to commercialization, particularly in training, funding, and access to facilities and equipment to enhance their products and improve their business operations.
Furthermore, for the packaging and labeling of various agri-aqua products, iPak of the Treasure Island Industrial Corporation aims to assist new business ventures with their packaging needs.
iPak Business Development Officer Windel Malinog mentioned that their company has supported several MSMEs and agripreneurs in the region, especially in printing pouches and producing microwavable products.
