Inclusive Postsecondary Education Programs within colleges & universities offer programs for students who have or have not received a traditional high school diploma. Students audit classes with their peers and are supported by program staff, peer mentors, and the natural supports of their college/university community. Students receive a certificate from the college/university upon completion of the program.
Program Details:
The Academy for Inclusive Learning and Social Growth offers a fully inclusive post-secondary college education and experience to students with different intellectual or developmental abilities who do not meet higher-education requirements for admission as a degree-seeking student. The program involves enrollment as non-degree seeking audit students in typical university courses and includes social integration, career exploration, and training resulting in a Certificate of Social Growth and Development.

Expanding Career, Education, and Leadership for Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The Excel Program offered by the Georgia Institute of Technology is a four-year college program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) leading to two separate Certificates. The first is a Certificate in Academic Enrichment, Social Fluency and Career Exploration and the second is a Certificate in Social Growth, Leadership, and Career Development.

The IDEAL program provides a two-year course of study where the students audit courses offered by GSU colleges and academic departments, complete work-study, and internship experiences, and participate in a variety of extracurricular activities on campus. Students audit two courses per semester for five semesters (including 1 summer).

The Guidance and Opportunities for Academic and Leadership Success (GOALS) Program at Columbus State University is a two-year certificate program that provides a college experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
East Georgia State College (Swainsboro Georgia) is a member of the University System of Georgia, gaining State College status in 2012, and offers a two-year college inclusion certificate program. The East Georgia State College inclusion program is designed for students with disabilities who desire to pursue a complete college immersion experience.

The Leveraging Education for Advancement Program (LEAP) is an Inclusive Postsecondary Education Program (IPSE). The LEAP program at Albany Technical College (ATC) is designed to provide students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 18 and older, an inclusive post-secondary college education experience. LEAP focuses on developing academic, personal, and self-advocacy skills that lead to employment. Each participant works closely with an academic transition teacher and a trained mentor to assist students in meeting their academic and social needs. EAGLE Academy Inclusive Post-secondary Education Program is a two-year certificate program of study which teaches independent living and career skills and empowers students to achieve Equal Access to Gainful Learning and Employment (EAGLE). Our program currently focuses on years 3 and 4 of the college experience, meaning our students have either attended other postsecondary programs for a year or two, worked previously, or have been out of high school for a couple of years.
