Welcome to my classroom!
I teach (and have taught) a wide range of courses, including Art I–IV, Watercolor I–II, AP Art History, AP Studio Art, Digital Media, Ceramics, and Sculpture. I earned both my BFA (2004) and M.Ed. (2013) in Art Education from the University of West Georgia, where I now proudly serve on the Alumni Board of Directors.
During my graduate studies, I had the opportunity to study abroad in Bayeux, France, just outside of Normandy. While living in a Benedictine monastery, I studied graduate-level Art History and Painting—an experience that profoundly shaped my artistic path and professional journey.
Travel continues to be a major source of inspiration in both my personal artwork and my teaching. I strive to bring the richness of different cultures, places, and perspectives into the classroom, believing that exposure to the wider world—whether through travel or artistic exploration—broadens understanding and fosters empathy.
In my classroom, I cultivate an environment that is creative, structured, and welcoming. I encourage open dialogue and support students’ social-emotional growth through meaningful projects that allow for personal expression, exploration, and the development of their individual artistic voice.
I reside in Carrollton, Georgia, where I am an active professional artist. I regularly participate in exhibitions, markets, and festivals, and I am a member of the Carrollton Artists Guild. Working across a variety of media—including oil, acrylic, and watercolor painting, as well as charcoal and collage—I enjoy exploring new techniques and creating work rich in meaning and symbolism.
When I'm not teaching, I'm creating!
