Review Graduation Requirements & school course catalog online to find out more about individual courses
Get familiar with the process (scan the next steps)
In early January, teachers will review records and suggest course placement for each student
Recommendations will be emailed to families the week of January 10th to help guide you in planning for a courses that are a best fit
PLEASE SAVE THIS DOCUMENT, you will have to upload this when you do your draft course selection form to prepare for meeting with counselor
Your teacher or the department chair can give you information and is available to answer questions
On January 13th during Community time:
Students will be able to meet with teachers and departments chairs and ask questions about classes they are interested in
The AP Fair will provide detailed information about AP courses available
Using the resources you were given:
Sheet with recommended courses for YOU
Answers you gained when you met with teachers
Course catalog and other resources available on the scheduling website
Talk to your parents
Pick your classes (Remember that Carondelet sets a limit on the number of APs a student can take in a given year: max of 2 for a sophomore, 3 for a junior and 4 for a senior. )
Complete the Time Management Planner to make sure that APs fit in your schedule and will not be too much:
Spend time at home filling out your online course request draft. FILL OUT THIS FORM
Make sure you have the document with the teacher recommendations as this will be needed in the event you request an honors or AP course
If you want to take AP courses, Carondelet requires students to fill out AP Contract
Once you submit your form with your requests, you will then be able to schedule your appointment with your counselor (you will be given access to your counselor's calendar to set an appointment)
Schedule a time that works for you (spots available on first come first serve basis)
Please make sure you:
Select a date in the weeks reserved for your grade,
Meetings for current 10th graders going into 11th:
2/8/23 through 2/28/23
Include your full name and student ID in the time slot you pick

NOTE: Calendar links included with confirmation of your home form submission from Step Five
Students should bring a copy of:
your course request sheet (virtual copy is fine) and any questions you have.
After the meeting you will receive:
A final course request will be submitted and parents and students will receive a confirmation receipt and copy of selections.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
Your counselor can only enroll you in courses you are approved to take. If you want to take a class you were not recommended for, you will have to follow the pre-req waiver procedure listed in the next section
Any changes after this meeting require that you submit a formal updated schedule request before March 15th -- See important forms page on this website. This will only be accepted with your Counselor's approval.
After March 15th, schedule requests are locked in and any changes will only be able to be made once schedules come out in the summer. During that time, you will be able to submit for a class change through the course change request system available on this website
PreReq Waiver if you want to take a class you were not recommended for and/or for which you do not meet pre-reqs, you will need to have to fill out this form to get the process started. You should also plan to meet with the Department Chair to discuss the class your are interested and potential avenues to getting ready for that class. Deadline for requesting pre-req waivers is March 15, 2023.
