Enlist - directly into a military branch when you turn 18 years old:

ROTC Programs - student chooses to go to college and pursue military at the same time; typically Air Force, Army, and Navy. There are ROTC scholarships for qualifying students and the expectation for students to serve in active duty after college.
Military Academies - It’s an extremely competitive and lengthy process, which starts Junior year. There is the expectation for students to serve in active duty as well. There are five Service Academies:

The United States Coast Guard Academy
The United States Merchant Marine Academy
The United States Military Academy
The United States Naval Academy
