About the Boosters
Our Band Boosters are a Not-for-Profit organization that was founded to help the Aviara Oaks Middle School Band Program meet its financial needs & obligations.
We also are responsible for much of the administration of all students in Band. We also help ensure that the students are comfortable and prepared both in the Band Room and during the various off-campus activities.
Booster meetings are held monthly in the Band Room. Anyone is welcome to attend -- please check the calendar for the next meeting date.
Meet the Board!
As per the Band Booster Club bylaws, the Presidents shall be selected from the General Assembly (band parents) from the previous year. They are responsible for running our regular monthly meetings, working with the Director to determine action taken for the Band, and delegating tasks to fellow board members.
Stephanie has had all three of her children under the direction of Mrs. Browne. Her older two are currently in the Marching Lancers at Carlsbad High School and her youngest is entering her third year of Band here at AOMS. Stephanie has spent a lot of time with Band, as both a musician through high school herself and as a parent with both AOMS and CHS Boosters. She is currently serving her final year for the AOMS Band Boosters.
The Vice President is a position that can help where needed in all other positions. They are responsible for helping to recruit members for the following school year and are expected to assume the position of President following their term as Vice President.
Tricia has her third child entering her seventh grade year with the AOMS Bands this year but she is a tried and true Band Booster, having already had both of her older boys go through the AOMS Band program. While serving as a Booster for both the AOMS Band and the Carlsbad High School Marching Lancers, Tricia is very knowledgeable in all behind-the-scenes workings of the Band. Serving as former President, she is a great resource for both parents and students alike.
The Treasurer is responsible for posting and depositing all checks received, making payments for the band and for preparing monthly financial statements.
Glynn's daughter is enjoying the Carlsbad High School Marching Lancers, but her son is just entering the seventh grade Concert Band here at AOMS. This is Glynn's third (and final) year as AOMS Band Treasurer and she constantly proves that she is invaluable to the infrastructure of the Band.
The Secretary is responsible for taking the minutes at our monthly board meetings and other miscellaneous correspondence.
This is Laura's first year on the AOMS Band Booster Board but her daugher is entering seventh grade and her second year in the AOMS Bands. She is excited to be joining the Boosters to help support the Band!
Our Student Presidents serve as liasons from the parents boosters to the student community in the Band Room. They help to give ideas and get the word out on important matters concerning the day-to-day operations of the band.
QUINN CHURCHILL & SAM ROBERTS
Both Quinn and Sam are entering their third year of the AOMS Band and look forward to serving as the 2019-20 Band Presidents and, consequently, the Student Representatives for the Boosters. They went through a rigorous interview and application process at the end of last year and were selected by the former Student Band Presidents.
Volunteer Coordinator is in responsible for coordinating volunteers through Sign up Genius for all of our scheduled events. We have many events planned for your students this year.
This is Karen's second year on the Board but her daughter's third year in the AOMS Band. As the Volunteer Coordinator, she is happy to answer any questions you may have (or can direct you to the right person) and would love to see how YOU can help us!
The Media Master runs the Facebook page and Instagram Feed for the band to keep families, alumni, and community informed of happenings in the program.
RESTAURANT NIGHT COORDINATOR
Organizes our local Restaurant Night fundraisers (about once every other month).
Member-at-Large doesn't hold a formal board position, but attend most Booster meetings to support the band program. It is a great way to get involved if you can't make a formal commitment to a board position or would like to serve on one of the smaller committees!
