The ballroom dance team has two captains and two lieutenants. Social Dance Club has two captains and calls on the lieutenants when necessary.

Lizzy Johnstone (she/her)- Co-Captain
Lizzy Johnstone (she/her)- Co-Captain
Lizzy is a junior majoring in Chemistry. She joined the team her freshman fall and has been committed to the team ever since! Her favorite dances are waltz and rumba, and we call her the rhythm queen! Outside of the ballroom, Lizzy enjoys watching movies with friends, and playing frisbee with Nova, which is one of Carleton's Ultimate frisbee teams! Lizzy is very sweet and is always open to conversation! If you ever see her in public, definitely come say hi!

Defne Arat (she/her)- Co-Captain
My name is Defne and I'm one of the co-captains of the team. I joined the team my freshman fall and have been addicted since! My favorite style is latin and my favorite dance is probably samba. Outside of dance, I'm a junior English major and creative writing minor and I love reading poetry, bird watching and theatre.

Lauren Hardin (she/her)- Lieutenant
Lauren is a sophomore who joined the team her freshman fall, and is hoping to major in Psychology with a minor in spanish! She's currently working on her independent research study with the science behind the therapy, Neuroptimal neurofeedback. Her favorite dances are smooth tango and latin samba. Outside the ballroom she enjoys playing her french horn, music festivals, and is currently part of a shadow cast for Rocky Horror Picture Show. She's always looking to make new friends and meet new people so come say hi!

Sabine Stutheit (they/them)- Lieutenant
Sabine Stutheit (they/them)- Lieutenant
Sabine is a sophomore Chemistry major with a Spanish minor, who joined the team their freshman fall term! They run the financial and logistical sides of the team, making sure that we have everything we need to practice and perform at any given time. Their favorite style is Latin, specifically Samba, but they also love East Coast Swing! Outside the ballroom they enjoy any kind of art and craft, as well as board games and hanging out with friends! Feel free to say hi if you bump into them anywhere on campus!

Danny is a senior Cognitive Science major who joined the team their freshman year! They are also one of the student departmental advisors for Cognitive Science, and they can't wait to see you at Social Dance Club!

Sophia is a sophomore prospective math major, and joined the team during her freshman fall. Sophia's favourite dances are Smooth Waltz and International Rumba, and she also enjoys working at the scene shop, drawing, and playing super smash bros! She'll see you at Social Dance Club!
